Department of English of Daffodil International University is going to organize a competition of English language proficiency for students of class 9 to class 12 (including "O" and "A" levels) from all over the country.

It is needless to reiterate the importance of learning English in today’s world, but, unfortunately, very few people can show their proficiency in this language in Bangladesh. There is a lack of real motivation among students for improving this language, since mostly they treat it as a regular subject. So it is never too late to initiate something through which an additional motivation can be offered to the learners of Bangladesh to improve their English language skills. To do so, the Department of English of Daffodil International University is going to organize a competition of English language proficiency for students of class 9 to class 12 (including "O" and "A" levels) from all over the country.

Rules of the Competition
Students of class 9 to 10 (as well as “O” level) and class 11 to 12 (as well as “A” level) can participate in the competition. Participants will have to pay ৳ 100 for completing registration. Selection round will be on online platform..
Rules of the Competition
Registration
Participants from class 9 to 10 (or “O” level) are in Junior Category.
Participants from class 11 to 12 (or “A” level) are in Senior Category.
Pay ৳ 100 for registration confirmation and take part in the Selection Round.
Pay registration fees through Bkash numbers (01625888099 or 01618637637).
Selection Round (Online)
Access through Computer or Mobile Phone with active internet connection.
Any eligible candidate can take part in this round on 10th August from anywhere of the country.
The test will be on grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and on elementary knowledge of English literature and language.
There will be 60 multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options for each.
Total time is 60 minutes.
Marks will vary depending on the time of submission.
Top 50% participants from each category will be selected for the Theater Round.
Theater Round (Online)
Access through Computer or Mobile Phone with active internet connection.
Qualified candidates can take part in this round.
The test will be on Reading and Writing Skills.
Top 15 participants from each category will be selected for the Final Round.
Final Round (Online)
Qualified candidates can take part in this round.
The test will be on Extempore Speech, and Facing the Jury.
Time: 5 Minutes for Extempore Speech and 5 minutes for Facing the Jury.

19th August 2021 (Thursday) 10 am : Briefing about Selection and Theater Rounds for participants from schools.
19th August 2021 (Thursday) 11:30 am : Briefing about Selection and Theater Rounds for participants from colleges.
20th August 2021 (Friday) 10 am – 4pm : Selection Round.
23rd August 2021 (Monday) 3:30 pm : Theater Round exam on reading and writing for junior level.
23rd August 2021 (Monday) at 5:30 pm : Theater Round exam on reading and writing for senior level.
28th August 2021 (Saturday) morning : Final Round.
28th August 2021 (Saturday) morning : Announcement of Results & Prize Giving.
